Who can take part
- You are at least 18 years old.
- Your body mass index (BMI) is 27 or higher.
- You are scheduled for a coronary angiogram (a heart artery X-ray) because of stable chest pain.
- The angiogram shows fatty plaque buildup (atheromatosis) in at least one heart artery, and a special test (NIRS) finds a high lipid core burden index (LCBI4mm > 200) in a vessel that won’t be opened with a stent.
- You do not have diabetes (HbA1c less than 6.5%) and you are not currently taking a GLP-1 medication (like Ozempic or Wegovy).
