Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 65 years old.
- You have been diagnosed with both major depression (that hasn't improved with at least two antidepressants) and chronic nerve pain.
- You have moderate to severe nerve pain that hasn't gotten better after trying at least two guideline-recommended pain medications.
- You are willing to stop your current antidepressants/antipsychotics for 2 or more weeks before starting the study.
- You do not have serious heart conditions, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or a history of stroke, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or psychosis (in you or a close relative).
- You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant, and you use effective birth control if you can become pregnant.
