Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • Your blood pressure remains high (140/90 or above) even after taking blood pressure pills as prescribed.
  • You take three types of blood pressure medications: an ACE inhibitor or ARB, a calcium channel blocker, and a water pill (diuretic), at the same doses for at least 4 weeks.
  • You are willing and able to come to follow-up visits and follow the study plan.
  • You do not have a pacemaker, severe kidney disease, uncontrolled diabetes, morbid obesity, sleep apnea, or certain neck conditions or surgeries.
