Ultrasound-based test to tell benign from malignant liver tumors

This study uses ultrasound images to help tell the difference between benign (non-cancerous) and malignant (cancerous) liver tumors without needing a needle biopsy. If you are 18–70, have a liver tumor visible on ultrasound, and are planning a biopsy or surgery to confirm the diagnosis, you may be able to join.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 70 years old.
  • You have a liver tumor that is not cancer spread from another organ.
  • You have not had any previous liver treatments like surgery, ablation, radiation, chemotherapy, or a transplant.
  • Your liver tumor is visible on a regular ultrasound and you will have a biopsy or surgery to confirm the diagnosis.
  • Your routine clinical and ultrasound data must be collected within 7 days of the biopsy or surgery.
