Who can take part

  • You have normal or near-normal heart arteries without major blockages
  • You have a reduced blood flow reserve in your heart's small vessels (measured by a special PET scan)
  • You are not currently very physically active or have a high fitness level (VO2 max over 45)
  • You are able and willing to exercise (no severe arthritis or injury that prevents it)
  • You do not have heart failure (ejection fraction below 40%) or uncontrolled high blood pressure
  • If you are a woman, you must be past menopause or surgically sterile
