Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You have a spinal cord injury and chronic pain (or no pain, for the comparison group).
  • You are scheduled to have a spinal cord electrical stimulator implanted under general anesthesia.
  • You are right-handed.
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder, severe organ problems, or a BMI over 35.
  • You have not had a bad reaction to esketamine, opioids, or NSAIDs in the past.
