Who can take part
- You are 18 years old or older.
- You have more than 2 broken ribs.
- Your pain level is higher than 5 on a 0-10 scale.
- Your breathing (measured by a spirometry device) is less than 60% of what is normal for you.
- Your broken ribs are not only in the top 3 or bottom 3 ribs, and you do not have fractures in other bones like your breastbone, collarbone, shoulder blade, or spine.
- You do not have serious conditions like a head injury, dementia, blood clotting problems, or use oxygen at home before the injury.

This study tests a procedure called cryoneurolysis, which uses cold to temporarily freeze nerves near broken ribs to relieve pain. It is for adults who have 1 to 6 recently broken ribs with at least moderate pain and are already getting a nerve block injection.
