Who can take part

  • You have a 5% to 20% chance of a heart event in the next 10 years based on standard risk factors.
  • You have never had a heart attack, been diagnosed with coronary artery disease, or had a stroke.
  • You have already had genetic testing done as part of a research study that allows researchers to contact you again.
  • You currently get your primary care at one of the participating clinics.
  • You are not currently taking cholesterol-lowering medications like statins or ezetimibe.
  • Your LDL (bad) cholesterol is under 190 mg/dL.
