Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 80 years old.
- Your body mass index (BMI) is 35 or higher, or 28 or higher with weight-related health problems like prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, or abnormal cholesterol.
- You have fatty liver disease, confirmed by ultrasound or a special scan called FibroScan.
- Your drinking falls into a specific range (a score of 4 or more for women, 5 or more for men on the AUDIT-C alcohol screening test).
- You can speak and understand German or French well enough for study visits.
- You are not currently using any other alcohol-dependence medication, and you do not have a condition that would make semaglutide unsafe for you.
