Tapering antipsychotics with N-Acetylcysteine for stable psychosis

Who can take part

  • You are 18 to 60 years old
  • You have been diagnosed with schizophrenia or a related psychotic disorder and have been stable (no severe symptoms) for at least 3 months
  • You have been taking the same dose of antipsychotic medication for at least 3 months
  • You have not changed any other psychiatric medications (like antidepressants or benzodiazepines) in the last 3 months
  • You have not been hospitalized for a psychiatric crisis in the last 6 months
  • You are not taking mood stabilizers, are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and have no history of substance dependence in the last 6 months
