  • You are scheduled for hip surgery.
  • Your overall health is rated as ASA I, II, III, or IV (stable to serious but not critical).
  • You do not have allergies to the study medications.
  • You do not have serious kidney, lung, liver, or hormone gland diseases.
  • You do not have chronic pain, a bleeding disorder, high pressure in the brain, or severe heart valve problems.
  • You do not have psychiatric conditions or trouble communicating.
