Who can take part
- Be 18 years or older
- Be able to understand the study and sign consent (or have a legally authorized representative sign)
- Have had a heart attack (STEMI or NSTEMI) confirmed by blood test (troponin) and symptoms or ECG changes
- Have high risk for heart failure, such as low pumping strength (ejection fraction under 50%) or needing treatment for lung fluid/congestion
- Be scheduled for percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) to open a blocked artery
- Not already be taking an SGLT-2 inhibitor, and not have serious kidney impairment (low kidney filtration under 30 or on dialysis)
