Who can take part

  • Your baby was born before 26 weeks of pregnancy, or weighed less than 750 grams at birth.
  • Your baby does not have a heart defect that was found before birth and depends on a special blood vessel called the ductus arteriosus.
  • Your baby is not on a breathing machine with more than 60% oxygen for at least 2 hours.
  • Your baby has not received hydrocortisone treatment.
  • Your baby does not have a very low platelet count (below 50,000).
  • Doctors have not decided to stop or limit life-saving treatments for your baby.
