Comparing simplified meal boluses to carb counting for teens with automated insulin pumps

Who can take part

  • Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes for at least one year
  • Currently using a hybrid closed loop (automated insulin delivery) system
  • Willing to avoid starting new non-insulin glucose-lowering medications during the study
  • No severe low blood sugar with seizure or loss of consciousness in the last 6 months
  • No diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) in the last 6 months unless caused by illness or infusion set failure
  • No major kidney, thyroid, or adrenal conditions, and not pregnant
