Who can take part
- You are 18 to 85 years old.
- You have been in the hospital for pneumonia, received IV antibiotics for at least 3 days, but are not getting better.
- Your pneumonia affects several parts of your lung (seen on a CT scan) and you need oxygen or a breathing machine.
- You have at least one high-risk factor, such as COPD, diabetes, age 65+, or obesity.
- You are expected to stay in the hospital for at least 7 more days.
