Who can take part

  • You must be 18 or older with a hospital-acquired pneumonia confirmed by a chest X-ray or CT scan.
  • You need to have a positive test for a specific resistant bacteria from a lung sample within the first 5 days of the study.
  • You must have symptoms like fever, cough, trouble breathing, or need for a ventilator.
  • You cannot be on dialysis, have certain severe heart or lung conditions, or have taken strong antibiotics for this infection in the last 72 hours.
  • Women who can have children must have a negative pregnancy test and use birth control during the study.
