Who can take part

  • Your first hip replacement was for osteoarthritis (wear-and-tear arthritis).
  • You have had a revision hip surgery that replaced the liner, ball, or cup (the socket part).
  • The new ball (femoral head) from your revision is size 28mm, 32mm, or 36mm.
  • Your surgery was done through a back-of-the-leg approach (posterior approach).
  • You did not have a revision that only replaced the thigh bone part.
  • You don't have a special 'constrained' liner or a metal-on-metal implant.
