Stem cells for primary progressive MS

This study tests whether stem cells from donated fat tissue can slow down primary progressive multiple sclerosis. You would receive a single injection of the cells into your spinal fluid and be followed for up to 2 years.

Who can take part

  • You have primary progressive multiple sclerosis
  • You are between 18 and 55 years old
  • Your disability level is moderate (EDSS score 3–6)
  • Your MS has gotten worse over the last 2 years (not just during relapses)
  • You had a spinal tap that showed oligoclonal bands
  • You have not had any MS relapse or new MRI lesions in the past year
  • You have not taken any MS disease-modifying drugs in the past year
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and use effective birth control if applicable
  • You can safely have a lumbar puncture (no blood thinners, low platelets, or infections)
