Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with liver cancer (HCC).
  • You have medium to large varices (F2 or F3) in your esophagus that haven't bled yet.
  • You are between 20 and 90 years old.
  • You have not had any treatment for varices before, such as banding, sclerotherapy, or a shunt procedure.
  • You have not taken beta-blocker medication (like carvedilol) in the last two weeks.
