This study is testing a special breathing tube that blocks one lung during surgery. It looks at whether the angle of the tube affects how well it works for right-sided lung operations. If you are having a right lung surgery with a camera, you may be able to join.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You have been rated as ASA grade I, II, or III (basically healthy to mildly or moderately ill).
  • You have no history of drug allergies or unusual reactions to anesthesia.
  • You are scheduled for a right-sided lung operation using a small camera (thoracoscopic surgery).
  • Your oxygen level without extra oxygen is at least 94% before the procedure.
  • You do not have any recent (within 3 months) serious lung injury or acute respiratory distress syndrome.
