- You are scheduled for lung surgery that needs a double-lumen breathing tube.
- Your general health is good, fair, or moderate (ASA physical status 1, 2, or 3).
- Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18.5 and 35.0.
- You have not had past surgery on your airway (windpipe, voice box, etc.).
- You do not have a high risk of food or liquid getting into your lungs (aspiration).
- You do not have a growth, polyp, or infection in your mouth, throat, or voice box.
