Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You must be in generally good health (with or without well-controlled medical conditions).
  • You must be scheduled for a thoracoscopic surgery (a type of keyhole surgery on your chest) that requires one lung to be deflated during the procedure.
  • You must not have any known problem in your right main airway that would prevent using a special breathing tube on that side.
  • You must not have a difficult airway or need an emergency surgery.
  • You must be able to give written consent to participate.
