Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 35 years old.
  • You have had pain in the front of or behind your kneecap for at least 3 months.
  • Your knee hurts during at least 3 of these activities: going up or down stairs, squatting, hopping/running, or sitting for a long time.
  • You have a positive "patellar grind test" where pressing on the kneecap causes pain behind it.
  • Your average knee pain in the past week is at least 3 out of 10 on a pain scale.
  • You have a tight IT band (positive Ober's test).
