Who can take part

  • You have had pain behind or around your kneecap for at least 3 months.
  • Pain happens during activities like squatting, kneeling, sitting for a long time, climbing stairs, hopping, or running.
  • Your pain level is at least a 3 on a 0 to 10 scale.
  • You can't fully straighten your knee when your hip is bent at 90 degrees (a sign of tight hamstrings).
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18 and 30.
  • You have not had knee surgery or other knee problems like torn cartilage or arthritis.
  • You do not have any mental health, heart, or nerve conditions that affect exercise.
  • You have not had physical therapy for your knee in the last 3 months.

You may be a good fit if you are a woman aged 18–45 who has had front knee pain for at least 6 weeks and it gets worse with activities like squatting or stairs.
