Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You are having a type of lung surgery called a 'fissureless lobectomy' to remove an entire lobe of your lung for lung cancer.
  • Your cancer cannot be treated with a smaller surgery (like removing only part of the lobe).
  • You have not had lung surgery on the same side before.
  • You do not have a history of scar tissue (pleural adhesions) in the chest.
