Patch for non-healing diabetic foot ulcers

This trial tests a special patch made from pig tissue (placenta) placed on diabetic foot ulcers that are not healing well. If you have a foot ulcer that has been present for 4 to 52 weeks and is not shrinking, you may be able to join the study.

Who can take part

  • You are 21 years or older
  • You have type 1 or type 2 diabetes
  • You have a foot ulcer (sore) that has been present for 4 to 52 weeks and is not healing well
  • The ulcer is on your foot, at least 1 cm² and no larger than 25 cm² after cleaning
  • You have good blood flow to your foot (tested in the last 30 days)
  • You are not pregnant, do not have end-stage kidney disease, and are not on certain medications that affect healing
