Who can take part
- You are between 7 and 90 days old (about 1 week to 3 months).
- You have a fever of at least 100.4°F (38°C) taken by rectum, either at the ER or reported by parents.
- One of your parents or guardians has signed a consent form.
- You weigh at least 5.5 pounds (2,500 grams).
- You do not have a chronic illness or known immune problem.
- You have not had antibiotics in the last 48 hours.
- The fever is not clearly from a skin or joint infection.
- Your parents or guardian can understand French.
