  • You are between 18 and 65 years old
  • You have been diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer (the most common type of thyroid cancer)
  • You are scheduled to have surgery for your thyroid cancer
  • You have lived in your current area for at least 5 years
  • You do not have serious heart, liver, or kidney problems
  • You have not been diagnosed with any other type of cancer

Planning treatment using radiation plus radioactive iodine for thyroid cancer
