Who can take part
- You are between 12 and 18 years old
- You have been admitted to the PICU within the last 24 hours
- You have a central venous catheter (a special IV line placed in a large vein)
- You have a confirmed or suspected infection or a condition causing body-wide inflammation
- You are not currently being treated for a blood clot, have had major surgery or trauma in the last 7 days, or have certain bleeding or kidney problems
