Austrian sarcopenia biobank study

Sarcopenia

Part of Brain & nervous system clinical trials.

This study collects blood and tissue samples from people with sarcopenia (muscle loss). It uses CT or MRI scans you already have planned to see how muscle changes over time. Your samples help researchers understand why muscle loss happens and how to treat it.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are willing to donate a blood or tissue sample.
  • You have a CT or MRI scan scheduled as part of your regular care within about 2 months of the study visit.
  • You do not have severe confusion or cognitive problems that would prevent you from giving consent.
  • You do not have advanced liver cancer (BCLC C or D).
  • You do not have any other condition that, in the doctor's opinion, would make it hard for you to take part.
