Bowel health study for prostate cancer radiation

Who can take part

  • You are a man aged 18 or older.
  • You have been diagnosed with intermediate to high-risk prostate cancer (stage T2b to T4a, no spread).
  • You are scheduled to receive a specific type of radiation (IMRT, 60 Gy in 20 treatments over 4 weeks).
  • You are in fairly good health (ECOG score 0-2 means you can do daily activities with little or no help).
  • You have not taken antibiotics by mouth, IV, or shot in the last 2 months.
  • You do not have inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, or a history of colon cancer, colectomy, or diverticulitis.
