Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
  • Your A1c blood sugar average is between 7.0% and 10.0%.
  • You have been managing your diabetes only with diet and exercise for at least 8 weeks (no diabetes pills or insulin).
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is 40 or less.
  • Your body still makes some of its own insulin (C-peptide level at least 0.5 ng/mL).
