- You are 50 years old or older
- You have age-related cataracts that are graded as moderate (nuclear grade II to III)
- You do not have glaucoma or uveitis (inflammation inside the eye)

- You have not used steroid or anti-inflammatory eye drops or pills in the past month
- You have not had any eye surgery, including past laser treatments or eye injuries
