Who can take part

  • You have a body mass index (BMI) between 18 and 40.
  • If you have Alzheimer's, you have had gradual memory problems for at least 6 months.
  • If you have Alzheimer's, a memory test score is between 18 and 30, and a dementia rating is mild (0.5 to 1).
  • If you have Alzheimer's, you have a reliable study partner who can join you for visits and talk by phone.
  • You are not currently taking or have recently taken a treatment that targets amyloid plaques in the brain (for the Alzheimer's group).
  • You do not have a serious medical condition that would make it unsafe to participate.
