Who can take part
- You must be between 18 and 90 years old.
- You must have a type of cancer called adenocarcinoma of the esophagus or stomach.
- You need to be scheduled for surgery to remove the tumor or a small procedure called staging laparoscopy.
- You cannot have taken antibiotics in the last 8 weeks.
- You cannot have had prior surgery to remove part of your esophagus or stomach.
- You must not be allergic to a drug called pimonidazole, and if you are a woman, you cannot be pregnant.
