Proton vs photon radiation for left-sided breast cancer

Who can take part

  • Your breast cancer must be invasive and on the left side.
  • You have had either a lumpectomy or a mastectomy with a breast implant or tissue expander.
  • Cancer stage should be T1 to T3 and N1 to N3 (but not N3c) after surgery.
  • You have not had radiation on the same side of your chest or chest wall before.
  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
