Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with a condition called symptomatic posterior vitreous detachment (when the eye gel pulls away and causes symptoms like flashes or floaters)
  • Both of your eyes have usable vision (you are not one-eyed or blind in one eye)
  • You can see well enough for the doctor to check the back of your eye with a special lens
  • You are able to cooperate with the exam and move your eyes in all directions
  • You do not have any current eye pain from recent surgery, inflammation, or other eye problems
  • You are not currently taking pain medication and do not have a chronic pain condition
