Interferon gamma for immune recovery in the ICU

Post-aggressive ImmunosuppressionAdult Patients Admitted to Intensive Care With Initial Severity (SOFA of the First 24 Hours Post-admission ≥ 6Adult Under Mechanical Ventilation, and Presenting an mHLA-DR Less Than 8,000AB/C

Part of Infections clinical trials.

This trial tests if a drug called interferon gamma can help boost the immune system of patients in the ICU who are fighting serious infections. It is for adults who are on a breathing machine and have low immune function.

  • You must be on a breathing machine (ventilator) with a tube down your airway.
  • Your blood test between days 5 and 10 in the ICU must show a low immune marker (mHLA-DR below 8,000).

Immune and inflammation study in ICU patients

This study looks at how your immune system and inflammation affect your recovery in the intensive care unit. Researchers want to understand why some patients do better than others.

Immune status and ICU infections study

This study looks at how having a weakened immune system affects the risk of getting infections with hard-to-treat bacteria in the ICU. Depending on your immune status, you may be placed in a group that helps doctors understand who is most at risk.

Early steroids for severe flu pneumonia

This trial tests whether giving steroids early to people hospitalized with severe flu pneumonia can improve recovery and reduce complications. It may help by reducing lung inflammation.

Interferon gamma to prevent infections in ICU patients

This trial tests if a drug called interferon gamma can help prevent new infections in ICU patients with a weakened immune system. It may help people who have been in the ICU for at least a week and have had multiple organ failure.

NCT05843786Recruiting· Phase 3
Interferon gamma for ventilator pneumonia in ICU

This trial tests whether a medicine called interferon gamma can improve outcomes in adults with a first episode of pneumonia that develops after being on a ventilator in the ICU. It is designed for specific ICU timing, infection severity, and immune marker levels, and it compares treatment on top of standard care.

NCT06549374Recruiting
Infection risk test in intensive care patients

This study looks at how the body's immune system responds to severe injury or illness by measuring a substance called interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) in the blood. The goal is to better understand infection risk and help doctors improve care for patients in the intensive care unit (ICU).
