Who can take part

  • You must test positive for HTLV-1 (a virus that can lead to this leukemia) with a high viral load (≥8% in your white blood cells).
  • You are at least 18 years old and have given written consent.
  • Your blood counts and liver, kidney, and lung function must be within safe limits (doctors will check this).
  • You cannot have had certain other cancers or autoimmune diseases in the recent past.
  • You must not have serious uncontrolled health issues like heart failure or active tuberculosis.
  • If you are of childbearing age, you must use effective contraception during and for 3 months after treatment.
