Who can take part
- You must have a formal diagnosis of moderate to severe generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).
- Your anxiety symptoms need to be significant, as measured by a standard questionnaire (HAM-A score of 22 or higher).
- You need to have tried at least two standard anxiety medications (like paroxetine, venlafaxine, duloxetine, escitalopram, or buspirone) for at least 6 weeks and not gotten adequate relief.
- You cannot have tried and failed more than 3 of these medications in the past.
- You cannot have bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or other psychotic disorders.
- You cannot be at significant risk for suicide or have recent suicidal behavior.
