Who can take part

  • You have a back tooth (molar) that is still alive but has deep decay or a large filling and is causing severe pain (irreversible pulpitis).
  • The tooth is a fully grown permanent tooth (not a baby tooth).
  • You do not have any serious health problems like uncontrolled diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease.
  • The tooth has no signs of infection at the root tip (abscess) on an X-ray, and no swelling or gum infection.
  • You are not allergic to any of the materials or medicines used in the study.
