Who can take part

  • You are between 30 and 75 years old.
  • You have moderate chronic kidney disease (stages 3b or 4).
  • Your parathyroid hormone (PTH) level is above normal.
  • You are not taking phosphate binders, calcitriol, or similar medications.
  • You can stop taking calcium, vitamin D, and other supplements during the study.
  • You have adequate vitamin D levels (above 20 ng/mL).
