Who can take part

  • Be between 18 and 70 years old
  • Weigh at least 45 kg (about 99 pounds)
  • Have a lupus diagnosis with active kidney disease confirmed by a kidney biopsy within the last year
  • Have a certain level of kidney protein in urine (UPCR > 1.0 g/g and 24-hour urine protein ≥ 1 g)
  • Have specific blood test results showing high interferon-gamma and a Th1/Th2 ratio of 14 or more
  • Not be pregnant or breastfeeding, and use effective birth control for 6 months after the trial
