Who can take part
- You weigh at least 40 kilograms (about 88 pounds).
- You have been diagnosed with lupus (SLE) and have active kidney inflammation (lupus nephritis).
- You are currently receiving or are willing to start standard induction therapy, which includes high-dose steroids and a drug called mycophenolate mofetil (MMF), within 60 days before the study starts.
- You do not have severe kidney damage, such as needing dialysis or having very low urine output.
- You have not previously failed treatment with MMF or its derivative (mycophenolate sodium).
