Who can take part
- Weigh at least 40 kg (about 88 pounds).
- Have a confirmed diagnosis of lupus (SLE) using standard medical criteria.
- Be currently taking or ready to start high-dose steroids and mycophenolate (MMF) for kidney inflammation.
- Not have severe kidney problems like needing dialysis or having very low urine output.
- Not have other kidney diseases that could affect study results.
- Not have failed previous treatment with mycophenolate for kidney inflammation.
