Who can take part

  • You are over 18 years old.
  • You had a heart attack that showed ST-segment changes on your ECG, with or without a rise in troponin.
  • You did not have bypass surgery and are not scheduled for another angioplasty (stent procedure) within 8 weeks of your first one.
  • You are willing to come for follow-up visits and have a life expectancy of at least 2 years.
  • You do not have severe thickening of the heart muscle, active cancer, inflammatory disease, serious valve disease, a pacemaker, cardiogenic shock, or active Crohn's disease.
