- You are 18 years or older.
- You have had heart or blood vessel surgery.
- You have recently had a stroke (within the last 36 hours) that affects one side of the brain.
- Your stroke symptoms are moderate to severe (doctors use a stroke scale score of 10–20).
- You have not taken the herbal medicine Angong Niuhuang in the past month.
