  • Your baby was born after 35 weeks of pregnancy.
  • Your baby needs major surgery on their stomach or intestines.
  • The surgery will happen within the first 5 days after birth.
  • You or your partner understand written and spoken English well enough to talk with the research team.
  • Your baby does not have a known or suspected metabolic disorder or serious liver problem.
