  • You are 16 years or older
  • You are scheduled for elective sinus or nose surgery (like ESS, septoplasty)
  • You are generally healthy enough to take part based on medical history and exam
  • You are willing and able to follow study procedures and sign a consent form
  • You do not have conditions like immunodeficiency, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, or frequent nosebleeds
  • You are not taking antibiotics, steroids, or immunosuppressive medication in the weeks before surgery
