Who can take part

  • You must have been diagnosed with essential thrombocythemia or polycythemia vera according to standard medical criteria.
  • You need to have a blood test and bone marrow biopsy confirming your condition.
  • Your overall health should be good, with a performance status score of 0, 1, or 2.
  • Your heart's pumping ability (ejection fraction) must be at least 60%.
  • You must not have had peginterferon treatment before.
  • You should not have other serious medical conditions like severe heart, liver, kidney, or mental health problems.
