AHSP as a biomarker for sickle cell disease

Who can take part

  • You or your child must be at least 3 years old
  • If you have sickle cell disease, you must have the SS or Sβ0 type
  • If you are a volunteer without sickle cell disease, you must be free of any blood disorders
  • You must not have had a blood transfusion in the last 3 months
  • You must not have certain active infections (like hepatitis B, C, or HIV) or other serious health problems
